"The spiritual path is simply the journey of living our lives; everyone is on a spiritual path; most people just don't know it"    Marianne Williamson

Reiki is the start of an exciting and illuminating spiritual journey which will lead you to challenge yourself and your beliefs but which will also help you gain a better understanding of who you are. Of course, Reiki is about healing too but it is as much about the healing of oneself as about assisting in the healing in others.

My interest in the system of Reiki began in 2004 after the death of my Mother. Reiki helped me to come to terms with my loss by bringing peace and calm into my life. It wasn't a magical cure for bereavement but it did allow me to start my healing process because it made me realise that healing will never come from an outside source, it has to come from within, and with that realisation came the knowledge that we all have an innate ability to heal ourselves if we are willing to allow ourselves the time and self love that we need to help us to recover and become whole.

Since that time I have had the pleasure and privilege to train and work with some amazing teachers and students who have helped expand my mind and open me up to the wonderful opportunities that Reiki offers. So out of something heart wrenchingly sad, came a new beginning and something enormously positive.

I have studied many styles of Reiki and although every experience taught me something new and exciting, I didn't feel quite "complete".  This all changed when I met a Reiki Teacher who had studied with Frans Stiene (International House of Reiki) and co-author of the "Japanese Art of Reiki" and "The Reiki Sourcebook".

I completed Shinpiden Usui Reiki Ryoho in December 2008. It's a bit of a cliche but I really felt that I had "come home".

Those of us who have The International House of Reiki Lineage, practice and teach the more traditional Japanese System of Reiki, Usui Reiki Ryoho - why not visit the International House of Reiki website www.ihreiki.com

There are Five Elements which make up the complete Japanese System of Reiki

1. Developing Spiritual and Mental Focus

This occurs through working with the precepts

2. Techniques and Meditations

These traditional practices are taught throughout all three levels

3. Hands on Healing

This is the physical aspect which can be used on the self, and others, for the purpose of healing

4.  Four Mantras and Symbols

Three in Level Two (Okuden) and one in Level Three (Shinpiden)

5.  Reiju/Attunements

These are received during a Reiki course and are  taught at Shinpiden

As a Reiki Master/Teacher I take great pleasure in teaching Reiki courses and undertaking attunements to all levels. Ongoing support is provided to all students at all levels. Regular reiki shares are held at my home and I organize reiki development days through out the year.

Healing should never be confused with curing. Ethical Reiki practitioners will NEVER promise to cure but receiving Reiki does offer the recipient the opportunity for healing to take place.

The System of Reiki

Once Okuden has been completed, students have the opportunity to progress and take their Reiki to a professional level and work as a Reiki Practitioner.
